Unpacking

....well and safe packing. unpacking brings a very good manufactured kit to day light - no wrinkles at all never had this before....

planed 12s Setup

some prelimenary calculations with www.eCalc.ch looks promissing:

12s 4300mAh-30C
Castle Edge 120HV
Leomotion LEO8015-180
Prop 22x12 or 23x10 or 24x8

Pilot «Peter» - 7g

Pilot «Peter» is ready and puts pressure on me to get that airplane finished for the next race....

Made of 2 mirrored pictured printed on photo paper results in a super light weight pilot of 7g only.
It looks great from distance - I do not like gost planes

Elevator

...finishing the elevator using 1.75"/45mm Miracle arms and Futaba BLS471 Servos (13.kg*cm / 191oz*in @7.4V)
using a quite light servo (57g/2oz) to avoid getting tail heavy at the end....

I used the Control Surface Moments Excel from eCalc.ch to evaluate the required torque

Tail Wheel

The tail wheel assembly is easy, BUT....
CAUTION: Do not overtorque the aluminum screw that will hold the tail gear shaft - it will break

therefore I had to modify the assembly and will try how it works. otherwise I'll have to builde a new screw....

Main Gear

for the main gear assembly I used for the wheel pants 4 outer wood spacer and one inner spacer in order to center the wheel.

Aileron

finishing the wings using Futaba BLS175 (21kg*cm/291oz*inch @7.4V) with 20cm/8" cable extension and a 45mm/1.75" Miracle servo arm.

I love the cable holder at the wing root.....

mounting motor

using a Dualsky GA4000.7 from www.leomotion.com, with a Fiala 20x12 prop.
for the installation of the motor 90mm spacer are required. due the squared holes in the firewall a 45 or 90 degrees drilling is too close and would weaken the firewall - therefore I went for a "asymetric" drill-scheme...

forced cooling

for the motor I added a forced cooling to the lower center hole of the motor hud by using a 90 degree drain pipe (weight 22g) from the plumbing accessories

Rudder

the rudder horns need some sanding not only to fit the mount but also to bring the pull-pull fix points in line with the hinges.

RC Receiver and Hub

I am using a Futaba R6303SB in combination with a Dualsky S.BUS HUB 18. The hub is supplyed by a Castle BEC Pro, is rated for 20A.

there is plenty of space to acomodate the battery to fire-up my Edge....

first run-up

soldering the plugs to the Castle Edge 120 HV and mounting to the motor spacer. the JETI anti-spark plug does avoid sparks when plug-in the battery.

for forced cooling the cowling airstream will be directed over the ESC and BEC entering the fuselage only though the motor dome, over the batteries and overboard throug an additional vent hole behind the rudder servo (not open yet...)

the short run-up of the Dualsky GA4000.7 (Leomotion LEO 8015-180) is successfull.
