Pitlab & Zbig FPV System - new official release 2.60

New official version 2.60 of Pitlab & Zbig FPV System is ready!
I'm starting new thread because previous thread about v2.50 becomes very long, but still here is a lot of knowledge, useful information and tips :
https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...m#post34214738

This takes longer than I expected to relase new version 2.60 (formerly 2.52 but finally I've decided to change its number to 2.60), and test lasts longer than usual, but I hope this version will be stable and free of bugs (I'm optimist ).

New version is available on Pitlab webpage:
https://www.pitlab.com/fpv-system/download.html

More info, tutorials, and new test/pre-release versions not oficially published yet are available on FPV System support website:
http://www.bigaj.com.pl/fpvsystem

What's new and exciting with this version?
First of all good news for all existing users: this upgrade is still free of charge and works with ALL existing OSD/AP/GS hardware!
But it is also last version working with all boards. Next firmware will work only with OSD board 2.3
New functions:
• Added temperature and pressure compensation for airspeed sensor.
• Added post flight statistics in imperial units
• System can perform automatic landing in case of RC reveiver failure.
• Added option for disabling telemetry in video signal (VBI period), allowing other systems to superimpose its own telemetry into video stream.
• Added option dor displaying AMSL altitude
• Added new options for horizon (central) field visualization (Russian HUD)
• Added numeric distance/altitude to nearest BuddyFlight airplane.
• Improved algorithms for Fixed and dynamic throttle, for better altitude control.
• Added function to change circling radius in Auto/circling mode
• Automatic disable of route visualization during last phase of auto landing (when airplane is on approach path) to clean screen from unnecessary items.
• Added functionality to avoid stall in AUTO mode when battery becomes empty.
• Added functionality to show RC diversity input
• Added new option which shows airplane position relatively to base like in paper map (north up, base at the center).
• Added new option in flight statistics: Watt-hours per kilometer (Wh/km)
• Added new data in telemetry, e.g control (steering) signals (RC input) and GPS statistics
• Waypoint distance limit was extended to 600 kilometers
• New functionality: RC input diversity, which allows to connect two RC receivers simultaneously to autopilot to make system more robust.
• Slow (low pass) filters for Aux 2..5 outputs. User can select 8 steps for signal filtering.
• Configurable Pitch and Roll output (Aux4 and Aux5) for simple servo gimbals.
• Added new option for 360/90 degree antenna trackers.
• Added new UART speeds for telemetry data: 115400bps and 230800bps, especially useful for pre-programmed Bluetooth modules.
• Added option for USART/Bluetooth diagnostics. It allows to check Bluetooth connection and proper data transmission / reception.
• Added option for automatic baud discovery for pre-programmed Bluetooth modules.

Many thanks for all beta-testers, who risk their valuable airplanes and equippment to test new version.

We wish you many safe flights with new version!

Pitlab team.

I don't remember what is the purpose of the low pass filter on aux outputs ?

It is for pan-tilt to make movement of camera more smooth, especially at long range, when RC link may experience short periods without RC control or catch short failsafe.

Yes, I should make T-shirts instead of new firmware: low risk, no bugs, no complains...

How do you power OSD/camera? From switching regulator or from LiPo pack?

Your OSD beard in the store does not have a version number. So is the OSD 2.3 the current one?

Hi ZBig,

I use this as 'stepdown' to 12v:"

and i use this powerfilter:

And this switch:

Weird thing is that when i switch the runcam eagle cam from PAL to NTSC the problem gets worse (just the same as the effio NTSC)

Versions 2.3 is the only board available in the shop (since july 2013).
Btw. If OSD shows hardware version zero (hw: 0) during startup next to version number it means that this board will not be compatible with next firmware releases.

Try to power OSD without this stepdown regulator (directly from 3S battery), and also disconect UBEC from AP. And see if it changes anything
