Virage sport build

I hope to have the latest updates on equipment settings and methodologies for reasons behind why things are set up the way they are. Feel free as a community to chime in and offer thoughts and insights, questions and dumb ideas..... They might be brilliant! Post relivent updates on "Yuri Creations" here as a resource for others..... Virage sits at the head of the table, all knowledge trickles down I have two Virage and an X-Plus to build.

Within the next few weeks & months hopefully there will be stuff I can link here in this list as bullets:
:ESC... like my 160HV ramp settings
:Servo placement
:CG Range
:AUW
:Servo programming/mixing
:Power logs
:Battery logs
...etc

Building for daily enjoyment and reliability, say 95% balls to the walls performance without going for that little bit more, the edge that starts to cause damage or little to no return for effort..... then back off 5%. 180MPH would be just fine and dandy for my needs on 10s.

Motors are Neu 1512/1.5Y/6.7 1850kv chosen for cooler running 8~10s daily sport flying with GM18x21.

And hotter Neu 1512/2.5D/6.7 2050kv on 10s GM18x23.

ESC being the popular CC Edge 160Lite as soon as they are in stock lol.

I do have the Ice 200A I can always strip down should go to 8s first for some reason.

Mks HV75K servo for ailerons and the tail planned unless otherwise talked into something else lol. I'm thinking the loss of a Virage to flutter earlier last week may have been to a warn out servo so I'm putting in a tighter/stronger unit but still keeping it light.

I'll be posting the full detailed install and thought process behind the methodology.

I have an extra Edge Lite 160 if you need one, it's NIB.. I'd also consider the GM 18x21 or 18x18 prop for sport flying. Others will disagree but it will draw less amps and give more instant vertical. Lot's of fun, just not quite as fast

I stripped one down and it is much much smaller without the heatsink!! Replacing the wires to thinner ones wasn't easy, but saved quite a bit of space and weight.

I'm hoping for more feel and being in touch with her. Top end speed can wait until I really know what to expect and that's what 10s/12s & 160hv is for, right lol? Smooth and in control. So the idea of having instant acceleration and how responsive she is in a wider speed envelope will win me over first.

I have a few weeks to put her together so I can wait for stock, but I may take you up on the great offer on the 160, thanks Tic.

Thankfully there is room for the full-size ESC but weight savings, yes that would be a huge Huge bonus, about 3 ounces of extra weight I'd happily trade for more battery capacity.

I guess the guys are saying their ESCs barely seem more than warm when land.

Never having run a 1512 before, let alone anything above 5kw..... Or, 10s...... I have no idea how much power I'm going to see. Hoping to build in some headroom with help from the forum.

Interesting idea, Roaring Top has an 80C 2800mA cell that just might fit for an 8s2600.

27x36x126 side-by-side? I haven't measured my fuse yet.... Guess I'll have to see what dimensions I have to work with.

Taking into account how the pack actually sits inside a round tube... Pretty much looks like anything square 38x40x110 will have 10mm of room on top up front and 6mm in the rear for cables, and plenty on the sides for wires.

But I doubt the 2600's would fit end-to-end. It would be a tight fit for a 10s2600.

I ended up oredering an 8s pack for $69.02 for the pair 2x 4s2200mah 80C RoaringTop USA packs to start with.

Sweet, no fussing around with fit lol. But they make them however you like too which is why I like them. Two 5s2200 70C if possible.

I will dig into the main thread and see what the main 10s pack seems to make guys happy.
