Helium envelope Design question

I am trying to design a new helium envelope and need to know some info. How do I calculate; for a given material used to build the helium envelope and a given payload; what size to build it to make it at equilibrium and/or with a net lift of 1000 grams? Are we restricted to the football design or can we use airfoil or monolithic designs?

thank you,

I posted a link to a Visual Basic program that I wrote sometime ago that maybe helpful.
I had to fight with windows 8.1 to get it to run today. You may have to select "run anyway".

I never got any feed back so I do not know if the various Windows OS come with the VB libraries required by default.

Trimble Sketcup is a great tool when designing anything. It's a 3d modelling software, previously owned by Google. There is a free version called Sketcup Make.
Sketcup also automatically gives you the volume of any closed shape when you make it into a group or component.
