It's 38mm, it was extra, may change it out for something nicer later......

Progress ~


The hull is stripped, the old rub rails on the sides were carefully removed and the big washports on each side were filled in.

The inner area of the hull at the top where the bulwark will be was built up with sheet styrene for strength and the deck support that goes all the way around the inside of the hull has been added, also increasing strength.

The original model had a single level deck, this one will have two levels, higher in front.

The original deck was used to make a template for the new deck and the locations of the new openings were established ...

Here are some pictures of the gurdy and pulley sets that will be used on this model, three sets were bought from Aimee ( Umi ) for another project but it's possible the scale will be OK here as well.

This looks like another interesting build with lots of detail.

Interesting as I was asking fellows up island if there were molds for some of the fish boats built up there a couple of months ago. Haven't heard of any.
