I dunno man, that Dog looks pretty worried. I don't think the dog believes it will fly...

Either that or he has to go to the bathroom. You didn't potty train him on the kitchen floor with paper towels, did you??

BTW, I think it will work just fine for PSS at 100% scale. Perhaps it is a bit short coupled. That sounds like a lot of carbon. You must get a good deal on it somewhere!

it's funny you guys say that about the dog, she had just had an accident earlier and she was in big trouble .....she was in the house a little too long.........yes i have access to expired carbon and kevlar from work. i may do the fuse kevlar/carbon for durability...carbon is a bit brittle to take all the abuse. i'll try and get some pics up tonight.

Looks like a fun project tim. Just my small piece of advice....don't do profile nacelles, totally tacky. If you're going to do it...do it right. One option you have is to make the nacelles removable with rare earth magnets. If you want to take them off, they'll just pop off. I got this trick from jcarstan, if you need me to, I'll forward you his info.

That said, I think I'll sit quietly and watch the show!

I've got some seat time in the S3. You've never landed until you've landed on a carrier. I'm still puckered in certain places.

The launch however, is absolutely a blast.

You gonna equip your's with that peculiar vacuum cleaner sound? LOL

I'm with Charlot on the nacelles. Go ahead and make 'em scale. It'll look sooooo much better.

Great project. Looking forward to this thread.

hey guys
i got the mold parting halfs cutout and the foam all marked out but my stupid cheapo bandsaw won't cut the 3" foam so i will have to go cut it up at my dads tomorrow. i am using 1/8 masonite board for the parting halfs, the foam will get glued to each half shaped and then seperated from eachother. then i will lay them flat on the table and pour plaster on the plugs. cheap and easy not quite as good as an epoxy mold but way cheaper and way quicker.

one question.......on the wing saddle area.....should i have a cutout in that area and have the wing bolt on......or should i cut out a set of cores glue the cores to the plugs make all the wing fillets and such cut the majority of the cores off. so when i pour the mold the shape of the wing at the root is formed and all the filets are part of the layup. then have the wings plug into the sides with a wing joiner. if so what is the best thing to use as a wing joiner. hope this makes sense
