I can see that...though it does explain why people coming here for what should be relatively straightforward advice end up getting so confused. Steve |

I like to run mine totally flat, then fully charge them when I get home and leave them in a cardboard box until next weekend.

Thanks all.
My charger does show the voltage per pack (which is why the 12.6V number is known). I have read enough on LiPos to know that flattening them kills the chemistry - I meant cycling from 9V to 12.6V but I think the general consensus there was a solid "no". I think my safest bet is, as people have pointed out, to get a voltage alarm - hoping my LHS has a few. My Tx is telemetry capable just my Rx is not. -_- |

Oh ya, and when you need to discharge a battery be sure to take note so that when you go to charge a battery, the charger is set back to CHARGE.!!!
Ask me how I know.... I have a 6cell battery that is about a year old. I meant to charge it but my charger, a day earlier, discharged a battery that I didn't fly. So, I thought I was charging for about 15 or twenty minutes when I realized I was DIS-CHARGING. The first cell was at 3.62v. After a flight on that battery the other 5 ells were at about 3.8v but that first cell was at 3.64v. Is it toast.?? |

In discharge mode a 'reputable' charger -might- have stopped the process at 3.6. Check the manual about that. It might even be adjustable. |
