My F16 pusher is 60" long.
I run a Scorpion SII-3026-1190 kv motor on 5000 4s 65C batteries and a 12x7 prop running around 950W. The plane hand launches and has better than 1:1 thrust to weight.

I'm working on a 72" long f18 and am looking at moving to 6S 5000 battery/motor combo for somewhere closer to 1300W.

Here are some current pictures.
Just finishing up some winter upgrades:
- Changed the control rods for the elevators to carbon rod.
- 3D printed the exhaust nozzle
- Strenghtened the motor mount
- added more carbon tow around the canopy/battery opening

I strongly suggest you invest in the Carbon Tow.
My F16 is all foam with 3/4 oz FG and polyurathane covering. Carbon Tow running over top and around the canopy.
No wood or carbon rod bracing in the fuse. I can hold the plane horizontally by the nose and it doesn't flex.

Currenly at the fill/sand/fill/sand/prime/fill/sand/fill/sand/prime stage

Here's the F18. Working on the wings.

Included side-by-side with the f16

In the picture it looks like the F-18 is built using the "cross-section stacking" method of foam scratch building - where did you get plans showing all of the fuselage sections to make templates for cutting the parts to make the fuselage? Other than using a CAD program I don't know a way of coming up with them accurately, and I really like building that way.

For the F18, I found a half decent model on grabcad.
Since I couldnít modify the model, I Sectioned it and built my own surfaces. Then I modified the model to adjust for making It an rc plane.
Now I can do whatever I want with it. Scale up or down.
I have an old thread here somewhere for the f18. Didnít seem like anyone was interested in it so, I stopped posting.

Been in EDF world for long but really like the efficiency of pusher jets. Been running Hobbyking motors for a decade and almost never had problems with them, and they are cheap and have the job done!!!
This motor with ~10' prop might be a good setup:

Here are all the motors you might be interested, just stay away from those heli motors:

Would try 6s on this motor myself, with smaller prop like 8' or 9'. ESC on hobbyking has good price too, here is one:

All the ESC you might need: https://hobbyking.com/en_us/power-sy...lity_type=4564

I would go with >100A ESC for peace of mind. You can easily unplug from one model to power another model.
