AXC Halo 90 Evolution

NEW FROM AXC DRONES:
AXC Halo 90 Evolution
Micro FPV Frame

The Original Halo frame just got even better!!

The AXC Halo 90 Evolution is a tough and lightweight 90mm FPV platform with built in prop and motor protection. The 3K Carbon Fibre Hoops that envelope the props are integral to the Halo’s structure and provide much of the frames strength and rigidity.

Each and every component of the AXC Halo 90 Evolution has been redesigned from scratch. The number of components has been reduced. Every fraction of a gram of weight that could be lost has been identified and removed.

Improvements to the design have been made in all areas including weight saving, prop protection, impact resilience, aerodynamics, battery mounting and dirt ingress.

AVAILABLE FROM:

Carbon Fibre Hoops and Base Frame:
  • The Hoops and Base Frame are CNC cut from high quality 3K carbon fibre.
  • All CNC cutting is carried out by ourselves at AXC-Drones in the UK.
  • All screws holes inside the hoops are counter sunk for use with CSK screws.

Polycarbonate (Lexan™) Canopy:
  • Incredibly tough clear polycarbonate canopy protects the camera, flight electronics and antennae from impact damage
  • FPV camera mount is incorporated into the canopy moulding.
  • The canopy simply clicks into place with no fasteners. It could not be simpler.
  • Dirt, grass and other unwanted material is prevented from reaching the Flight Controller, ESC, VTX and RX
  • The aerodynamic design optimises the airflow over the central core of the quadcopter and electronics stack
  • We use genuine Lexan™ Exell D polycarbnonate that is UV stable and suitable for outdoor use.
  • The canopy can be painted on the inside giving a scratch proof and high gloss finish
  • DIY paint it yourself in the same way you would paint an RC car body or....
  • Choose a canopy from our range of pre-painted colour options or....
  • We will paint your canopy with any available colour from the Tamiya Polycarbonate Paint range (*extra fee applies)

Aluminium Components:
  • We love CNC machining Aluminium!
  • At AXC we have our own CNC machining facility ensuring the quality of our components is superb.
  • We machine all our components from aircraft grade billet 6082-T6 aluminium.
  • Through careful design and state of the art CNC machining we create very strong and lightweight components.
  • All our screw threads are formed with roll taps for maximum strength and durability.

AXC Halo 90 Evolution (1 min 24 sec)

Well done! Looks like a very significant evolution and upgrade from the original design.

Can you confirm whether this will only fit 1.9" props (FFPV 1935 are listed)? If we could fit 2" props, that would open up the possibility of many more prop designs.

Hi,
Your comments are much appreciated! Thanks!

It's a good point you've highlighted. The inside of the hoops are exactly 2". You could fit 2" props but they would need to be trimmed down slightly to allow some clearance.

Sure it's a bit of a pain to trim props, but on the plus side you hardly every break a prop with this new design. There's a few solutions around for trimming props. This weekend I'll have a look into at producing our own prop trimmer.... watch this space.

Cheers
Rob

Seems like a very nice design, and more durable than the DYS ELF. Are the extra holes where the motors mount, to reduce weight, or to be able to accept more different motors?

With a Turnigy nano-tech 450mAh 3S 65C Lipo it tips the scales at 112g.

Lighter than the Torrent 110.

Lighter and way better than the Aurora 90.

The extra holes are there lose a little weight and also to allow the motors to be angled with the wires aligned parallel to the lower arms or diagonally. We prefer our motor wires to go along the arms for extra protection and to keep the prop blast unobstructed. We figured that people are going to be swapping bits over off their Original AXC Halo or Aurora90 () to this new frame and they might want to mount the wires diagonally.

We're using the FXT FX806T and also the Kingkong Q25-Mini 5.8G 25mW.

If there's demand to use a different system we can produce different polycarbonate canopies to suit. I have plans to produce one for 20x20 hole sized OSD boards and antenna.

Sounds good. I think the Eachine TX-03 is quite popular, offering nice image, and the option to select 25mW, 50mW and 200mW power settings. Making it very suitable for something in the 90 brushless class, allowing to select more power for better range in difficult circumstances, and switch back to 25mW for better battery economy when the extra power isn't needed.
