You could just order SPRacingF3Evo brushed boards with integrated FrSky receivers (FRF_EVO) and tap into the driver signal, they're like $15 each, which is more than the H8 but we're only talking a few more bucks. They are easily configurable and in all likelihood way more reliable.

Also, could you link me those props again? I've forgotten where you did that previously and can't find the links.

But then I would not have d shot right?
Props I used.

I ordered 3 h101 boards from aliexpress a couple of days ago now but not showing as shipped, hope it's not another let down like some props I ordered from aliexpress which after a few week the seller told me they were not available...

Not sure. Doesn't that depend on the ESC? I thought all F3 controllers were dshot-capable, but I've never had to deal with that so I can't really say.

Thanks for the props.

D shot is digital communication between FC and ESC, a brushed controller will just be sending pwm to drive motors, which is analogue , trust me when I say d shot is worth it, I tried the same quad using both and d shot is much better , the quad feels smoother and locked in.
To drive a blheli s ESC with d shot the FC has to send digital signals and fet need to be not used so signal must be taken before the fet which drives brushed motors ., At least this is how it is using h101 boards, easy to do with fine soldering.
F3 controllers can do d shot but I dont know if the brushed ones can be set up for it?

Recieved this in the post today!
https://www.boldclash.com/boldclash-...dshot-600.html
A quick wire up of a motor and bound it to my taranis and it worked fine, I charged a battery fully and tested again and it worked still right away, this is promising because the banggood version of the ESC won't work on a fully charged battery.
Quality of board and soldering look top notch and I'll be doing a review on it soon with some high Resolution pictures.

However mounting it on this bamboo frame looks awkward so I might use it on another build maybe with this frame https://www.boldclash.com/boldclash-...frame-kit.html and some 0703 1500kv motors then it should be a truly indoor brushless.

So I'm waiting on my h101 boards which should sit better on the bamboo frame with the arms taped like on my brushed bamboo quads, they have been posted so just a case of waiting, maybe if I get impatient I will take one out of a brushed build for now..
I've also intending on a boldclash b03 brushless build by flashing the board with silverised acro fw ,
So many projects for when I can't fly ( which is most of the time lol) but today I actually had some fpv flights again in the park and even got the kiddies playground to myself for a while and flew through the climbing frame and swings etc etc which was great fun!

A little update on this , it's been held up because of some interesting discoveries I made investigating the fishpepper 4in1 ESC , basically it has trouble with signal levels on some fc boards if the regulator on the boards is lower than 3.1v which many of the toy ones are 2.8v including the h101 and boldclash b03 ,
I have found a way around it though without resorting to the difficult job of replacing a sm regulator and even trying to find a suitable one which won't cause a brown out....
I used oneshot 125 with inverted signal and took the signal after the motor fet which is easier anyway than soldering to the fet gate, the only thing is a result of around 1k needs to be added across the motor pads and capacitor removed, this is relatively easy task and I will document it when I do the build.

4in1 ESC soldered to motors , mounting it with fishing line might hold it in place I hope, i was considering the h101 as FC because it is easy to tape in place on these bamboo frames but on this one with it on top of the ESC it fouls the props , the boldclash bwhoop b03 will fit but mounting it will be trickier and then a camera on top of that.....

For reference ,
Here are the connections made on the bwhoop b03 for d shot or any other protocol in fact , the signal is taken before the fet and no resistors need adding and no capacitor needs removing.

This works great for an ESC which has proper regulators on board, unfortunately the fishpepper 4in1 1s ESC does not so it won't work until battery it at 3.85v, this could possibly be fixed by replacing the regulator on the b03 with a 3.1v ldo type but then brown outs and loss of control may be a problem and sourcing a 3.1v ldo cheaply and quickly seems impossible.

I rebuilt my 110 carbon frame 1s using the 4in1 ESC and oneshot with signal after the fets and 1k resistors across the motors on a h101 board ,
After calibrating a couple of times it worked and is now flying again, and arms on a fully charged battery!

Flashed with https://github.com/silver13/BoldClash-BWHOOP-B-03 set for oneshot 45 ( there are various things set differently to stock form of this and I will share this with anyone who needs it later ) and set "throttle to motors" and connected wires to esc for testing, quick calibration by
Power up FC but no power to esc
Bind to taranis ( using multimodule or nrf2401 module on bayang protocol )
Put throttle to full
Connect power to esc and wait a second for beeps to start
Pull throttle to bottom and wait for ESC to stop beeping.
Checked it all works ok and then flash bwhoop b03 FC again this time with "throttle to motors" disabled.

Next I need to mount the FC and ESC properly somehow and solder the wires directly from FC to esc.

Mounted the ESC using fishing line and tape, seems good enough hopefully.
Wired up the ESC to FC and tested for correct motor order , FC will sit on top with the foam spacer I made from packing foam, I'll probably just tape that too...not pretty but functional and will provide some damping ..

Next is to sort out the battery connector and do a test flight, then tidy up all those motor wires.

Camera will just sit on top with a rubber band and some heat shrink between it and FC for easy removal.

Not pretty but 27.5, just needs a little tape for the battery holder , a test flight and then some tidying up.

It flies!!!!
Maiden test flight of my bamboo skewers brushless micro quadcopter. 27g plus battery. (0 min 42 sec)

On a very old weak battery that was flat this seems pretty good, charging up some good ones now...
Then I need to tidy it up and tune it ..
