Yes, it has flaps. Very functional split flaps to be precise.

The covering is made of PVC just like most shelf paper and has a sticky backing just like shelf paper. It's also pre-printed, just like... you guessed it. Those who've had VQ planes will tell you that the covering is rather tough and the printed details are really nice (and don't peel off!). The covering does tend to sag / tighten in the sun over open structures, but this plane is mostly sheeted (except for small parts of the control surfaces). The sticky back makes it easy to apply should you need to repair it (each kit comes with a bit of extra covering), and you can shrink it using low heat and a cover on your iron. If any little edge wants to come up I use canopy glue to tack it down and seal the edge.
