The scratch built foam plane I use to teach first time RC flyers is the EzFly . It is very stable , and can be slow flying if built lightweight . Also , the motor/prop are protected in a nose first crash .

Here is one of mine :

Copy of EzFly with under-cambered wing (1 min 57 sec)

Let me know if you want to build an EzFly , I can help you through the whole process .

Do you already have an RC aircraft transmitter and receiver ?

Do you already have electronics ..... motor , ESC , servos , battery ? The weight of your electronics will determine the size EzFly you should make .

Do you have sheets of foam ? If so , what is the thickness ?

Do you know of an RC hobby store where you live , or an online RC hobby store that ships to your location ? If so , send me a link to their website so I can see what they have available , then I can make a recommendation .

Ok , what is your budget for transmitter/receiver , motor , ESC , servos , batteries , battery charger , propeller , hardware , etc ? If you can afford to get everything from Horizon Hobby , then I'll start with recommending a Spektrum DX6e ( or higher ) transmitter with receiver :
https://www.horizonhobby.com/radios/...ceiver-spm6650

If you want to get everything in one order from Horizon Hobby ; let me know and I'll list all the electronics , etc. that will work for an EzFly .

How thick is the foam you'll be using ?

From RC Bazaar , these items will work for an EzFly :

Transmitter/receiver : http://www.rcbazaar.com/product.aspx?productid=2011

Battery : http://www.rcbazaar.com/product.aspx?productid=4912

Battery charger : http://www.rcbazaar.com/product.aspx?productid=992

Motor : http://www.rcbazaar.com/product.aspx?productid=2398

ESC : http://www.rcbazaar.com/product.aspx?productid=4792

Connectors ( ESC to motor ) : http://www.rcbazaar.com/product.aspx?productid=207

Props : http://www.rcbazaar.com/product.aspx?productid=2475
http://www.rcbazaar.com/product.aspx?productid=316

Servo ( you'll need two ) : http://www.rcbazaar.com/product.aspx?productid=794

Control horns : http://www.rcbazaar.com/product.aspx?productid=4200

Can you get foam locally where you live ? Try to get sheets about 5mm - 6mm thick .

I use hot melt glue to assemble foam parts .

You'll also need :
tape
wood ( to mount motor to , then wood/motor is glued/taped to plane ) .
sticks ( for wing spar and pushrods ) , bamboo works well .
cutting surface
cutting blades ( VERY sharp for clean cut , a dull blade will tear the foam )

Here are the plans for the EzFly ( pdf file ) : https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...6&d=1334660760

You'll need a computer and printer . Open the pdf file on Adobe Reader and enlarge the plans to 100% . Then on the printer's setup page , select "poster" , "cut marks" and "labels" . The printer will print out tiles that will be assembled into poster sized plans to make templates for your foam pieces . The pieces should look like in the photos below :

When I went back to check to see if the links to RC Bazaar worked , I noticed that most of their products are out of stock ..... and sometimes the links don't work ( I get a server error message ) .

Do you know if HobbyKing or Banggood ship to where you live ? If so , I can list links for products from one of those online stores .

Banggood has free shipping ( to the USA ) on most items ...... maybe it will be the same for you . Here is an example of a transmitter/receiver from Banggood :

I have personally used that transmitter/receiver and know it works well .
