Another Estes Free Flight Conversion Question

My next project is going to be the estes fighter school plane. The yellow one that looks like a zero. what Im wondering is has anyone ever tried to use the stock motor with a 2 cell lipo? How long did it last? is it worth trying or should I just get a J250 right off of the bat. My stagger wing biplane has an EDP50 and a 3x2 prop and it doesent fly to bad. Its not underpowered but its not fast either. I thought about trying the EDP 50 because the zero wouldnt have as much drag as the biplane( 2 wings versus 1 on the zero) but I dont know if it would make that much difference.
Thanks
Nick

The stock motors are pretty inefficient, I think. I recommend replacing it.

Would'nt it be great if the reciever was less than 5 volts, we could leave those motors in and run a single lipo ( which is twice the voltage of the motor ) and run it till it dies,
but 7.4 on a 1.2v motor is over the top!

So how long will the stock motor last with a 2 cell and some throttle management? The stock battery was labeled as a 3.6v 180 mah.
