You are so fast, we will not use Git3 name this time.
The 4K camera does not come with touchscreen, small OLED screen.

More info and samples will be out in May.

yes, it seems to be geared towards dashcam use. I was expecting a cosmetic upgrade but it looks like it has the rubbery SJ4000-esque faceplate which is still classic and ergonomic.

The design is almost same as Git2, but with 2 inch touch screen.
And with rear camera, have better performance in low light condition.
Also we will release different design rear camera for different usage.

Maybe Novatek chipset? I heard that since Gopro dumped Ambarella, Ambarella chips are being sold for dollars in the market... Anyways, to have an action camera that doubles down as a PIP dashcam should still have a market even without the Native 4k. Pricing will also be crucial as well. Good luck Git3 - Wait, it won't be called Git3??? Git Medusa?

Yes, it is Novatek chipset. Before we make this, Ambarella does not support dual lens, even now supported, but the cost is too high.
The name will be simpler like G3, seems some one doesn't like "Git".

Good idea... Git doesn't sound that great on its own. Maybe try to think of an English name as most Chinese manufacturers like to have letter and number model numbers.

What is the expected maximum native resolution of Gitup's upcoming GoPro style camera? Is the linked website's description accurate? Is 1080p really the max resolution?

The 4K camera model name is GitUp F1, please also help to update the title.

"git" is British slang for something not nice -- Maybe Nigel up there can tell us exactly what it means.

In American English, "git" is slang for "get" or 'get out of here.' For example: You tell your dog to "Git!" when it jumps on the bed.

I'll just quote Wikipedia, although note that it is normally used in an affectionate way, for something or someone that you normally like:

Quote:
The name "git" was given by Linus Torvalds when he wrote the very
first version. He described the tool as "the stupid content tracker"
and the name as (depending on your way):

- random three-letter combination that is pronounceable, and not
actually used by any common UNIX command. The fact that it is a
mispronunciation of "get" may or may not be relevant.
- stupid. contemptible and despicable. simple. Take your pick from the
dictionary of slang.
- "global information tracker": you're in a good mood, and it actually
works for you. Angels sing, and a light suddenly fills the room.
- "g*dd*mn idiotic truckload of sh*t": when it breaks

Git isnt really used in a nasty way in the UK or really considered a swear word.

An example would be, if a friend was winding you up about something (in a friendly way), you would call him a git.
