2 or 4 screws to mount Axi 2820/12?

Only 2 of the 4 pre-drilled mounting holes line up with my motor's holes. With cooling holes now drilled, I'm worried that the wood may get too sparse if I redrill the extra two holes.

Should I use all 4 screws or just 2 to mount the Axi 2820/12 to a hardwood mount?

Use 4 screws, perhaps it is better to start with a fresh piece of birch ply.

Drill the 4 mounting holes, 4mm at 25mm centres. Next drill 6mm holes between the 4mm holes for cooling. You should find that everything then lines up nicely.

Best regards,

John

Thanks John.

For now I've tentatively installed it with only 2 screws for testing purposes. It seems stong but one can never be sure. I may end up using your idea before maiden flight.

I have been flying two of these motors all summer with just two screws, and it has been working just fine.

Do you two-screw types use any sort of lock-washers or lock-tight? I just used regular flat washers.

I been using the star type lock washers and have not had them loosen at all. I have used them on AXI and Orbit motors successfully. (Orbits 15s only have two on the motor)

Great! I'll get some star washers and be all set.

Thanks for the help.
