Build Log

A-10 Thunderbolt II 1700 mm - with plans when finished

The original plan was to build A380 after my C-130 RC, but then switched to Boeing 747. One day I saw my fellow Facebook group member build an A-10 then I postpone again the B-747project. I already bought 5 servoless retracts without strut and wheel from Hobbyking for 747, I will use 3 of them on A-10. Usually I post my complete build in here, this is my first time posting on a project that is still on progress.

Model specification :
- Material : 3mm polyfoam/ depron foam
- Glue : hot glue
- Cover : Vinyl with paint
- Landing gear : 3 servoless retracts
- Sound jet effect with portable MP3 player
- Motor : 2 x 2826 - Turnigy 2200 kv (pusher prop)
- ESC : 2 x 40A
- Servo : 9 x 9 gram
- Prop : 2 x 6x4
- Wingspan : 1700 mm
- Airfoil : Clark Y
- Flying weight : 1600 gram (target)

Mold for Canopy

I will use vacuum forming to mold the canopy. First I print the canopy shape with 3d printer and cover it with 2 layers of thick putty.

Yes sir, pusher prop
I need to hide that prop. I will use 6x4 inch prop or 5x5 (4 blade) inch

Looks comes before efficiency ?

But you only see the props, where ever you put them, when not flying.

Exactly
For me looks is everything, then flying is secondary
