2005 September 10-11 - San Diego, California USA
USA F5B team trial for 2006 and Intergalactic F5B contest. The " Intergalactic" is essentially a 7/10/whatever cell handicap open contest to be held concurrently with the team selection program. Contestants may choose 1 or the other and will be interspersed in order to keep things moving. Those competing for a Team slot must present themselves and their models (which must meet the rules of the event) Friday evening for weighing and measuring, have the attendant FAI stamp on their AMA card, etc. Intergalactic contestants just show up Saturday at the field. We'll probably have a burger burn while we're at it. More details to follow; also watch our website. Steve Manganelli will be the CD and may be contacted for further details at [email protected].
Updated information from the CD:
1) An "FAI Stamp" is no longer required in order to compete for the Team. However, there are some requirements AMA puts you through that need to be completed prior to August 10th in order to be part of the Team Selection (see the contest announcement for details). Nothing special for Intergalactic other than AMA card. We're giving out awards for 7-cell, 10-cell (F5F), and F-5B. All F-5B comers may compete for those trophies, the top three qualified participants getting the additional prize of US Team Reps! I'm also asking all Intergalactic comers to register prior to 25 August so we can make up the frequency matrix and size things accordingly.

2) Lunch will be provided and will more likely be sandwiches than a burger burn!

2005 October 1-2 - Northern Virginia RC field, Virginia, USA
Please join Northern Virginia RC for an AMA sanctioned F5B contest.
Two classes: F5B per FAI rules and F5F (10-cells and under) without regard to FAI airframe requirements.

(Explanation - F5B airframes with 10-cells are allowed to fly in F5F, but they
are discouraged. As such, please add some cells and move up to F5B.)
Lipos are not allowed in F5B, F5F, or Hotliner type airframes. Lipos are allowed
in warmliner and slower stuff.

Duration is reduced from 600 seconds to 300 seconds in an effort to fly 4
rounds. For scoring, the best 2 of 3 rounds or best 3 of 4 rounds will be used.
$10 landing fee to help cover lunch, prizes, and awards for both classes.

NVRC's website or search for "Virginia F5B" in the threads.
