KST X12-508 Micro Cyclic Corelss HV Servo

KST introduces a new breed of micro servos for power hungry 450 class helicopters.

KST has been on the map lately with an inexpensive alternative to high end servos. They have been producing servos for pretty much all of the RC industry in general, but they have just recently released a new micro servo that takes a heavy leap forward in the micro servo arena for helis.

The X12-508 is the newest micro powerhouse servo from KST. They have the DS line of micros that cover a broad range of RC craft, but this new X12- 508 has an all new look as well as a more powerful torque gear train, at a faster speed. The outer casing is now anodized in black with new graphics, and of course this is a high voltage servo which includes a coreless motor. The X12- 508 has a slightly higher price tag than their previous servos, but they are still not in the expensive category, so if you are looking for some respectable quality "get the job done" cyclic servos for your 450 sized helicopter, then it looks like KST is pushing that button.

8,679.6 oz-in, or 542.5 in-lbs. That's impressive.

why would you ever need that amount of torque on a 450, this is just the 250 all over. overkill servos. Its like putting a 1000hp engine in a car lightweight car, make a whole lot a noise and still not get anywhere any faster

I think they're aiming at 380/420 helis, and they look good for those. If they're not much heavier than a KST215/115, plenty of folks will fit them to 450's too. And you know what people are like, they'll buy them for looks too!

I've decided to resign of my Hitec 5070 MH and 5087 MH in my Extreme Flight Extra 48" EXP and now I have 4x KST X12-508. I hope they are going to be a very good choice!
