How about afixin' the Yard Stik wing to the SS?

Anyone try this? The Yard Stik wing is only slightly smaller than the SS wing. I would like to try this for its added durability. I fly my SS from my backyard and weaving my way through the trees sometimes gets a bit hairy. It seems to me that the Yard Stik tail feathers could also be mounted satisfactorily. I fly mine with the 400 motor setup so power is not a problem. I also use 3s 1200 lipos and KAN 1050 7 cell packs - again no problem with power.

I did and it works great. Flies a little faster and looks better with the new wing. I fly mine with a park 380 brushless, GWS 1080 prop and 7cell 1100 ma nimh.

Hail Prince

Did you glue the wings together at the center or mount them using the Yard Stik brackets?

I bent copper tubing to fit the Slo Stick (same length and angle as the aluminum ones on the original wing) and epoxied the yard stick wing rods into them. Then use rubber bands to attach the wing.
