Schwing Corsa 2.75M (108")

Hi Guys,
here is the new Schwing Corsa 2.75M.

Basically the same as the original Schwing 2.33M (98") but a larger wing area, on a higher aspect ratio wing, so the wing can be either lighter loaded or heavier as required.

Wing comes in carbon as standard - same as the original.

Testing looks very promising but not yet finished.

More later, but hopefully I might have one at the ISR.

"Modeling" the model is Lola Chen - Sales Manager in my Taipei Meister Marine Engineering office, and a lot better looking than me!

Bit more and more comments here, and all NON TROLL comments are welcome:

Cheers,

Doc J..

Looks awesome! Been looking for a replacement 3meter-ish plane. I really like the simplistic scheme. Send one to the states, Ill wring it out!

Are these the wings that will fit on the Schwing88 fuse?

I did not know you made a set of 2.33m wings as well. Are they available to purchase? I would be interested in a set if they fiit the Schwing88 fuse.

Thanks,
Adam

Hi Adam.

The original Schwing 88" is 2.33M wing span.

The new 2.75M (108") wings fit the old fuselage with no modifications.

Even the CG is not affected.

You just end up with more light wind performance, and more ballasting ability so the range is extended both ways.

But if you get one of those SERIOUS blow job days...you'll be glad of the 88 wings!

I'm pretty sure that Wayne at Aloft will let you in on the details if you call him.

Cheers,

Doc J.

OK. I understand now. Thanks for the claification. I will check with Wayne. It would be great to have two wings of differing spans that were actually designed for the same fuse.

Why the "88" in Schwing88? I figured it was the wingspan in inches.

Hi Adam - its is 88" - It does not quite work out to 2.3M bur its close enough!

New maiden.

Jonathan Wells Just maidened his new Schwing Corsa 108" in UK. He likes it:

Quote:

"I had the opportunity to maiden my Schwing Corsa this evening, a rushed maiden flight. It felt great, a nice slippery plane like the Schwing 88 but better, even without ballast, no bad habits. I set the C/G @ 100mm for its maiden, it felt grippy during F3F style turns, pulled out slightly in a dive test, Inverted performance is really good. I can't wait to get out again."

Good stuff.

Cheers,

Doc James.

So, whats the difference?

Hi Gys - quite a few people have asked me the difference between the Schwing 88 and the new Schwing Corsa 108.

Basically its the same plane but with an increased span.

The other difference is that for some reason its Waaaayyyy faster!

Its coming soon to your friendly downtown racing sailplane store!
