Bluff Cove is in Palos Verdes. Flying is permitted there on weekends only and you must have AMA. The cops check!

Well that depends on your level of motivation. It only cost me some time, sweat and (happily) not too much blood

Cool shot! It brings back memories of my diving days in the 80's. I don't recall those "houses" being there, though.

All too true though. Those houses cost more than I'll make in a lifetime!

Is this the same as Malaga Cove? If not, is it north or south of Malaga cove? I've flown at Lunada Bay a few times and it's been hardly worth it.

Malaga Cove is just South of Bluff, the next cove over. Lunada Bay can have fantastic lift, but it is very sensitive to wind direction.

Bluff cove was where I had my 1st flight in big lift back in the 70's. It still is a great place to fly on weekends. The landing is pretty easy once you have seen the locals do it. If there is no lift at Bluf or Fermin there is no flying any where on the penisula. There are quite a few places to fly in P.V. but only if the conditions are correct. Bluff and Fermin are the 2 That have lift most everyday. My theory on PV is that it splits the ocean breeze and that there is usually a dead spot in the center of the penisula. I have actualy been stranded off P.V. in a sailboat with no wind before. places like Lunada bay, Chrystal cove, and the light house at the end of Crenshaw Blvd. are in this dead area. But sometimes they can be good places to fly.

I believe the sights are in this order:

Heading south from Torrance beach you hit the Malaga Cove split (to the left is PV Dr North. and to the right is Malaga Cove village (PV Dr. South)

After Malaga Cove village you pass Bluff Cove
then you reach the Northface split - continuing to the left (PV Dr. South) to Lunada Bay Village and to the right is Northface (Paseo De ?).

After Northface you pass Rocky Point and then Lunada Bay. After Lunada Bay, you merge back up onto PV Drive heading south

After passing Bluff cove on PV dr. you drive through Lunada Bay village and intersect the road from lunada bay slope (see above note).
and continue south past the old Marineland facility)

then you go through Portugese Bend to Western blvd and turn right. Follow the road past the baseball field (Whitepoint) and contiue to Pt. Fermin
