THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UGLY - OMT (One More Time)
THE GOOD! The picture of our president, without a (*&^ drone as we had to suffer with most often with his predecessor.
THE BAD! The cover, proof in case you needed it that AMA and MA have become a home for droners. Maybe the "M" in the name of both should be changed to "Money", as that seems to be the require for success with such toys, definitely more so than skill or experience.
THE UGULY. Not a misspelling or a typo, "Uguly" is a southern colloquialism for something past just plain "Ugly".
In this case, another photo of MA's esteemed Editor holding another one of his freebies. And adding further insult to an airplane that deserves a cover if one ever did. Look at Page 106, upper right. A Douglas C-124, obviously designed and built by Ed Mason - there are no kits, plans or ARFs of this airplane which has to be a very complicated project. The color scheme is authentic, beautifully done. And to add realism, it is engine powered (see the mufflers.), not with swishy electric motors.
The C-124 was given only 13.5" of space, the picture of Jay Smith took 23.75". What an ego! this what you are paying your annual fees for?

I don't pay dues any more... I'm done with that rag....
It's no secret that I'm not a fan of the AMA...and their constant reminders that they are king..

The latest thing I saw was "You don't need to 'alert' your local Airport, when you're flying now !"- as if were to their credit...?

What really caused the suggested rule change was the Airport personnel...-They were being inundated by callers stating their intentions to fly models, and the FBO's got tired of it.
We've been at Lums Pond for 33 years... Summit Aviation is well aware of our field, and our perfect track record.
Latest blog entry: Ban Birds.
