BAMF - ArmSoar Composite Gliders

Teaser... coming soon

Open the box and get it built within 2 hours.
Assemble it at the field within a minute.
Disassemble it and put it into the GO Mini 1 meter box.

Solid core Rohacell.
Spread tow wing and tail skins.
Go Mini style fuselage with QuikLink, optimized size for performance and ease of construction and assembly at field.
Nosecone for super easy access.
Lots of room for ballast (don't think you'll actually need much).
Super thin at around 8.6mm thick at root.
1 and 2-piece wings available.
Designed to compete in performance with the newest and best models on the market.
Designed to fit into your everyday life whether it's in the trunk going for a flight to/from work, or in the case slung over your shoulder going on a trip.

We're optimizing the fuse space right now. Next step will be to print some 3D models to hold in my hands and make sure everything is tip top, before we start milling the aluminum molds. We should begin flight and structural testing in May, and have everything finalized and ready for sale by end of May.

2 minutes !?!?

Thomas, that is good, but do you remember the Swyft?
Scobie's best box to launch time was under 30 seconds.
But still, very very cool

What is the Swyft?

Join two wing panels together, bolt it onto the fuse (2 screws) - 25 seconds.
Hook up the tail, bolt it onto the fuse (2 screws) - 20 seconds.
Open nosecone, plug in battery, close nosecone - 10 seconds.

Minute with change. I think that is rather conservative. I'll have to try and beat 30 seconds when we start actually testing it

You don't know what a Swyft is?

Still a minute is pretty good.
Is this 1.2m or 1.5m?

Also a Swyft requires 0 tools to put together.

Thanks! I will take a look at the link.
I have figured out a way to do 2p wing with no screws or tape, but i haven't been able to find a way for the stab yet. Maybe we will introduce tool-less into a model later down the road, but I am not 100% confident in that yet.

BAMF is a full 1.5 meter competition model.

Thomas,

When I see you, I am going to get you drunk and get you a BAMF tattoo. If you complain or resist it will be a tramp stamp.

BAMF is the BAMFin best name ever.

That's a kinda rude name... +1 on Thomas tattoo: I think just give it to him as a tramp stamp, the home it deserves.

Thomas, I'm in.
As the add says " shut up and take my money".
I have been playing around converting some existing models to two piece and wishing others were made that way.
Never been that happy with my results apart from with a Snipe.
Been looking forward to something like this for a long while.

Big grin here!

Regards,
Paul.

Thanks Paul!!! I have been looking forward to this project as well, I travel a lot to fly (even going to the club requires quite a bit of traveling on public transit in China and crossing borders!) and this will be something I imagine will save me a lot of hassle.

We're looking at $5400 HKD including shipping and insurance (just below $700 USD).

Cheers,
Thomas
