Greetings Guests/Non-Members,

You are welcome to fly with us at Thunderbird Field providing you are an AMA member and comply with all AMA rules including club specific rules as posted on our web page and at the field. Please check our web site .... http://www.fwthunderbirds.org/

If you are not an AMA member, click here to join ... http://www.modelaircraft.org/

Helicopters and other Vertical Takeoff Aircraft - We have designated an area south of the parking lot for helicopters and other aircraft that take off and land vertically. Please note the map displayed on our web site and at the field. You must keep your aircraft inside the designated area and avoid interference with runway operations. Fly only in the area designated for your type of aircraft.

If you plan to fly FPV ....."Fly using the assistance of a camera or First-Person View (FPV) only in accordance with the procedures outlined in AMA Document #550". If you're not familiar with this document, you need to read it before flying. https://www.modelaircraft.org/files/550.pdf

If the gate to the field is unlocked (only when members are present), you're welcome to park in the parking lot, place your AMA card in the appropriate frequency board pocket, and fly. If the gate is locked, you may park in the area provided adjacent to the gate and walk to the field, place your AMA card in the frequency board, and fly.

The gate to the field is locked when members are not present. If you want to continue flying when the last member leaves, you may but, you must move your vehicle to the parking area outside the gate.

Please respect our facility and use the trash cans provided. Our members work hard to maintain the field and we expect you to support our efforts by treating all club property with respect.

All rules apply to everyone, with special emphasis on safety rules ...no exceptions. When in doubt, re-read the rules. If you have questions, ask a member.

NO ENGINE/MOTOR RUNS ALLOWED IN THE PIT AREA. THIS INCLUDES ELECTRIC POWERED AIRCRAFT. (Obey the “No Engine Run” markings on the pavement”)

DO NOT "ARM" (i.e.. plug in the battery) YOUR ELECTRIC POWERED AIRCRAFT IN THE PIT AREA.

SPECTATORS are not allowed beyond the safety fence unless accompanied by a club member pilot.

Feel free to contact me (via PM or email), or any club officer, if you have questions.

Happy flying,
