Vladimir's Model PLUS F5J

The PLUS is a beautiful twin-boom glider with a pusher propeller to decrease drag while thermalling. Let's take a closer look at this F5J powered glider.

Vladimir's Model PLUS F5J

A New Twin Boom With Exceptional Performance

Vladimir's Model has just introduced a gorgeous addition to their fleet of competition gliders: the PLUS. This F5J competition airframe is a twin-boom design that has a number of advantages going for it. The first is the folding pusher prop on the aft end of the main fuselage, effectively reducing the overall drag. The second is the inverted V-tail design that increases rudder efficiency at smaller throws. All of this, combined with the optimized airfoil designed by Joe Wurtz, gives the PLUS great thermalling and penetration performance while looking quite unique as well.

The PLUS retails for around $2141 at Kennedy Composites.

Really nice. I wonder how the dork landing haters will deal with this?

the real mounted motor and propeller reduce parasitic drag
Is there any actual evidence to show that twin boom generates less drag than tractor, folder, nose cone or is this just a marketing plug?

I see lots of cut up hands trying to launch the electric with the engine behind the pod.

Anyone else notice that this is a 5 servo main wing? 2 for the left and right ailerons, 2 for the left and right flaps and 1 more for the center flap. Could make for some interesting radio setups.

Not an issue with OpenTX/ER9X.

My comment was more along the lines of flight combinations, not how easy or hard any specific transmitter will be to program. Dropping the center and the outer flaps should really bring this to a crawl. But maybe you only drop the center flap and leave the outer flaps coupled to the ailerons. You will just have more possible combinations to use to get the most out of the airframe.
