Eachine H8 mini + Multi Protocol Module

In my previous post I mentioned I had the Eachine bound to my Turnigy 9XR Pro VIA a multi protocol module ...

https://goo.gl/cJvDpd Multi protocol Module ... FYI , this module only does ( NRF24L01 )
https://goo.gl/R6ALz5 Eachine H8 mini ...

These are the instructions for binding ..

When you turn on the Tx hold the sticks in the following position ( on start - not after )
Rudder right + Aileron left = EAchine H8 mini 3D
Elevator up + Aileron right = EAchine H8(C) mini

Will the real Eachine stand up please !

These were the instructions , but for the Taranis transmitter .
For the 9XR Pro I found the following worked
Transmitter is mode 2 Left stick is Throttle / Rudder

Throttle Down / Rudder left ( bottom left corner )
Right stick = top right corner

Once the (?) model is bound , you should not need to repeat the process as the protocol ( model ) will be remembered next time you want to fly .
Like I said , the instructions are for the Taranis , so if you plug the module into any other Tx , you will need to explore for a bind .

Eachine H8 mini ...
I still haven't tried the factory remote .
The H8 bound to my 9XR pro shows great promise for a really good flying mini quad ( or is it micro ? )

It handles a breeze relatively well for it's small size
The H8 lacks power / or is a little heavy
Very strong , takes bumps well
Might be stunt able .. ( Very nimble )
For the price - seriously ! ( A lot of people will spend $13 on a take out order that gets Number 2'ed a few days latter )
My H8 seems to have a bad motor , and it makes the little quad tricky to hover as the motor runs rough ( see video )

Over all I was impressed by the H8 when bound to the 9XR Pro , I always thought the budget quads were limited by the factory transmitters and the H8 proves that to me . Unfortunately my H8 has a bad motor , and if not for that it would probably hover in place like a champ ..

If you get a good H8 ( no problems ) then it could make for an excellent learning quad .. Either set up rates or limit input ( Less than 100% ) .. The rudder on my H8 was super sensitive so I set it to 50% and fantastic .. ( Also reversed the rudder - for me )
Do I like the H8 ? Even with a bad motor = YES !
Do I like the multi protocol module = Even though there are no instructions for the Turnigy 9XR pro = Yes ..

I like the small cheap micro quads / helicopters .. I hate the nasty transmitters they come with ( should I call them controllers ) .. What the hobby desperately needs is a transmitter ( decent quality ) that will bind to every last one of these products .. One transmitter and hundreds of toys to chose from , that's how it should be .. And modules like this one help to address this short coming put in place by the RC Industry . ( If anything I think they are limiting sales rather than maximizing sales )

Anyhow , what I have found is that many of these mini / micro's will fly really well when bound to a better transmitter ..
I still remember the first time I bound the WL toys V911 to a 9x .. It was like chalk and cheese .. ( Flew so much better )

A bit of an update !

After 10 flights the bad motor seems to have come good .. ( Runs smooth )
The H8 really does hover like a champ when the motors are running properly ...
