Yes I saw that... I bought this epoxy hydro hull years ago at the Dortmund show but it's too small really with only 38cm length and very thin and I always planned to put one of my Fury inline twins in it anyway... I had a bid yesterday on an old Lindberg ready built kit but lost... not too many suitable kits available today and the Robbe and Aeronaut kits are way too elaborate... the Graupner TINA sloop would work but... just sold mine halfbuilt one at last swapmeet and kits are rare and expensive

The problem with outboard hydroplanes is that they need lot of weight up-front to balance well,a mono or Deep-Vee hull like the small Dumas 1/2A boats would be better:

Thank you for the Dumas link and the video's are great... I can buy this in England... the Sprite is a kit at 45 + mail and the second pic is a plan with templates at 9... I will check if the German Dumas importer does follow the boat line... I only do have these outbords in the collection it's not my specialty but I do like them quite a lot... used to have the rare Super Tigre and still regret selling that one....

There is this "vintage" outboard raceclass. 152VO if I recall correctly. That class uses wooden semi scale classic raceboats for outboards.

All scale 1:5,2 so there are different boat sizes (some of these classic racers were really small)

I think they have plans here... Smallest I saw was 48 cm, largest about 65 cm

I remember your Fuji outboard boat movie... ran very nicely... and then you've got plenty water canals in Holland... I did have two of those Fuji's but swapped them... may place a bid on the next one offered on ebay...

Boat for Atwood outboard

Hi Reginald, There is currently a boat on ebay that made for the Atwood and/or Sea Fury outboard motors. My brother built one back in the late 50s. Its called a Speedliner. Its ebay # is 371761308222 currently at $30.00. Other boats that were made back then were the Dumas Apache and the Ideal Speed Demon. once in a while, you can find them on ebay. Also Sterling made a kit , a 21' Chris Craft Monterey . Thank you ,Gary

Thank you... but could'nt find that Speedliner on the bay... was probably too late... there is a Wen-Mac Corvette for sale complete with Atwood at 270$ but no mention of state of engine... and this is hard plastic and in my experience hard to repair properly... I have bought that Britisch Sprite kit after all... this boating stuff is some in-between the rc airplanes and the engine side of the hobby...

Welp it does save you time in cutting out the wood should do just fine with the outboard.
If willing post a running vid will be a rare treat not too many out there with the outboards.

Speed Demon

Hi Reginald, Here are pdf files of the Ideal Speed Demon that was produced for the Sea fury and Atwood outboards of the fifties. The parts are traced from the kit. The original kit used 1/8" ply for the bulkheads and keel. 1/8" balsa for the sides and 1/16" mahogany for the bottom, deck and side rails. As a precaution when using the motor on any boat, I used a steel fishing leader attached the motor and on to a screw eye in the keel to keep from losing motor if the clamps should come loose. Luckily when it happened to me, it was in shallow water so I was able to retrieve the motor. Thank you, Gary
