Transport Canada rules released today regarding R/C models and drones

Just a FYI about the new rules that Transport Canada just released today regarding R/C models and drones.

Drone rules:
https://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/civilaviati...y-legally.html

R/C plane rules:
https://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/mediaroom/i...-aircraft.html
(And note that none of it applies to MAAC clubs! Guess someone paid the Danegeld...)

So thanks to a few idiots buzzing planes and windows, we're going to have to watch our backs more... Fly safe and pass on the info!

This will kill the mini to full size drone market in Canada. MAAC fields are not drone racing friendly. Freestlying isn't really a thing in an open field. The rules themselves make it essentially illegal in most places in Canada. When you factor in the 9 km flight runway/pad clearance, most of Southern Ontario is off limits, let alone the other rules. Funny enough I'm currently building a brushless micro quad that will be under the 250g limit.
