That's odd, I'm going to Hong Kong as well, although not until later in the year. I'll be curious to see who chimes in.

I happened to be in HK at the moment and if you are in from 12-16 the only place you and fly is Clear Water Bay. The wind is usually from the North at this time, but for the week it will come from NE, making CWB a great place.

Go To Waigo LHS) in Monkok and look for Ah Kin the local slope guru like Stanley, he works in the model shop. He will tell who and when anyone is flying. Or call me, my HK mobile number is 9761 7943 and I would be glad to point you in the right direction. Only thing is that I will be in session with my client and only be available in the evenings. I will only be there till 14 Oct. Maybe we could meet one evening. Would be great to put a face to the name.

Oh if you get to the slope, please watch out for the Shooting Stars and the Mini NYXs, the pilots like to see if they can touch the wingtips in the high speed fly bys! I kid you not!

Hi Mal
Got your Pm but your mail box is full. The URL is the main page of the one above
Look thru the site and you will see the gallery they have there. Shows most popular slopers in HK.
The slope racers there like to do fast flybys close enough to touch the wing tips with the TX antennae, then bank away from the slope into the valley and loop towards the slope and only just clearing it.

Very exciting to watch, but ................

Hi Ktoey,

Sorry for not responding earlier as I was in Germany last week participating in the Viking Race. If you are still in HK now, just give me a call at 92568087. I will drive you up to the mountain to have some wonderful soaring experience here, see the highspeed MiniNYX touching grass, crazy DS - the weather forecast this weekend is promising.

By the way, our soaring club organizes lots of activities in the coming season, if you happen to be here this period, you are welcome to join us.

Stanley and Ming,
Thanks for the kind offer.
I am back in LA.
I left HK on Sunday.
When I was there, I did not have a chance to visit the slope or hiobby shop. Too busy taking tours.
Next time you come to LA, let me know. I'll be glad to take you around the LA sites.
