SR-71 Short nose

I really like the SR-71. I decided to shorten the fuse. Made from double thick adams foam board.

Checking the motor fit. A 2212 rewired to 5T 2350kv.

About done with the mount. Servos next. Then rework the nose some to hold the battery.

I put the servos on top. Battery might get warm. Should be quick to change though.

Looks like auw will be 16oz plus paint.

I used paint brushes.
Paint job = .95oz
Plane as pictured = 7.05oz

Tested some more props.
I got 31 amps with a 6x4e and 30oz thrust. Looks like I'll use that one to start.

The landing skids tore off on landing. It flies though.

Changed the skids to a smooth contour. Good thing I didn't put the servos down there.

Flying it some more. The rolls are not too axial. Seems to loose altitude or drop nose. Do people use aileron differential on deltas?

Looking at a wing thread, looks like I need more down then up to compensate for reflex. I'll try that next.
