BASS East coast hand launch classic (Timonium MD) 2017 August 12-13

Hey all,

For a little change of pace, this year I have decided to actually plan more than a month in advance! So. Baltimore area soaring society will be hosting our annual F3K event August 12-13.

The field is here: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Vi...3!4d-76.594601 If you haven't had the pleasure of flying this field it is quite a unique challenge. A quote from 2016 "Villa Maria knocks 20 feet off the bottom of your launch height" Mr. Shantz, there is no better place to learn what trees are and how to pimp them.

Registration is here: http://www.f3xvault.com/?action=even...w&event_id=914 30$ for both days plus 7$ a day for lunch if you want it.

Hope to see you all there!

I'm hoping to attend this. Would anyone be available to call for me? Or is it whoever's available?

Registered. Looking forward to flying at Villa Maria again!

(But serious question here: F3Xvault? Another damned site logon to keep track of? Why is F3Xvault better, than, say, <http://www.flyesl.com>?)

F3X Vaults allows on the fly scores to be entered. Its what the bigger contests are using (IHLGF comes to mind); the ESL site is rather outdated and makes no provisions for entering contest scores online.

Austin, I would be there save for a wedding that weekend. Next year. Any word on CASA now that its legal to fly there again?

I'm curious what provisions are missing? It supports both live scoring and posting scores after the fact.

Does it interface with F3Kscore? I'm soo out of the contest loop my opinion should be taken with a grain of salt.

Most active f3k pilots have migrated to it on both coasts. So it is more of a one stop shop for contest info. If you weren't flying on the east coast you would not likely know of flyesl. It's easy to use and I was hoping to get a little more visibility.

Ah, probably not. ESL Score software updates the web site automatically. I would guess that it could be added to other scoring programs, but I haven't looked at what would be involved.

Weekend bump. 14 pilots so far. Siler is making the ride out. Reto?! Happy to extend the red carpet buddy. Been too long since you have been out on this coast.
