How do I charge 4S batteries in Parallel Charge?
I have a question about charging 4s batteries in parallel. Currently, I'm using 3s batteries. For what I know online.... I should charge close to or below the charger watts.
For example: The battery is 12.60v(3s) when is full. The capacity is 1550mah and the c rating is 45c. Base on online information.... The math equation should be like this... 12.60Vx1.55Amps=19.5Watts. Can i use this method for 4s batteries or the math equation is difference? For example: 16.8Vx1.55amps=26.04Watts. Why I ask? My battery charger is rated at 50 Watts. I don't want to burn my charger . You feel me. I'm new understanding electronic. Correct me if im wrong because i don't see this kind of information online beside 3s batteries. Thank you. |

The equation is a standard one used in all electrical work - Voltage (Volts) x Current (Amps) = Power (Watts).
The numbers you are using are for charging at 1C. That's o.k. but many batteries can take more than that. Also if you connect batteries to your charger that want to take more than the 50W it is capable of nothing will burn up. The charger will just reduce the current so the batteries will charge more slowly. Steve |

See, I wasn't thinking when i brought the 50watts charger from ebay. Plus I'm not sure if my charger has a safety feature to reduce the watts, so it doesn't burn. I got IMAX B6ac. I guess when im charging six 4s 1550mah 45c batteries. I have no choice to do 2.9amps for charge rate. Doing that it will produce 48.72watts. Ok now I need a new charger again. Lol. Thats kind of slow for charging. Any good charger out there?

As to a new charger may I suggest either the GT or PowerLab series of chargers from Revolectrix. The USA store is: http://www.usastore.revolectrix.com/...pro-Chargers_2 If you are not in the USA there is an international store at: http://www.store.revolectrix.com/Pro...llpro-Chargers BTW, to make it easier to recommend sources, it would be good for you to include at least your country in your profile.
