i like them as cheap batterys, i dont know anyone who doesnt like them, most just preferr others

They were the bomb a year or two back until the 10Cs came out. I think ETEC has played catch up but it hasnt shaken its old 6C self. I have the old ETECs and they are still dont great in my metal detectors

Threy are fine used within the honest limits. Others are now better, but not as much as the claims made for them suggest.

My one E-tech pack is still strong after a years sporadic flying at 6-7C peak, and if I could get more cheap I would. However they arte neither the hottest nor the cheapest these days.

I love mine. I have it in my wing. I like it for its small size and weight. fits in my wing nicely and doesn't add lots of weight. Only problem, my wing draws around 7 amps so flight times are actually pretty low... but if i move to a 1500 2s its too heavy... O well sacrafices. My e-tec is Still running strong

let me add this.....


As a dealer it's great selling E-tec products.

1. I have never seen a puffed pack in inventory
2. I have never seen a pack with the voltage down
3. We have built many packs for non R/C applications, zero returns
4. 1 or 2 problems reported in R/C, replaced them, no problems.

The highest quality I have ever seen, better than NiMH!

I only use 3 lipo packs and they are all Etecs, 2 old one new. They are very good value and the newer ones are especially good for flying upto around 12A WOT. They can be found very cheap and they aren't far behind the latest generation packs.

I still love mine. Got 3s 1200's for my Piccolo heli and a 2s 1200 which I stuff in my Shockie outdoors in the wind. Normally use 2S 700 in the Shockie. All these packs have had many many cycles.

Vintage - If you want them cheap then take a look at www.electricflight.co.uk He has 2S 1200's for 15 inc VAT

What caused them to break?


Mt Etec's are still going strong - just use them within the 6C limit.

I believe that there are other brands out there that deliver better "C", but brute-force amps does not neccissarily make a better pack.
I have quit using them in high-amp applications and use them exclusivily for 8-C or less (depending on the generation).

Since GP1100 1/2A cells came out I am a total convert to NIMH in my performance planes. Good for 30 amps, and I borrowed the technique of parralelling them that the LIPO guys "patented" for 60+ amps

as mentioned , etec was top of the line a year ago (@ 6C).
Then competition came and they started to boast about new cells, which were delayed far awy....
Now there is so much competition online that they are just inside the pack...
