19-20 oz Ace Simple 400

Is anyone who tries to fly a ACE SIMPLE 400 of 19 or 20 oz ? It seems way too much heavy. Unfortunately, I beefed up too much on fuse and wing (they are fixed from some hand-lauching crashes). Now, it weights 19 oz now. Wondering whether I need to rebuild a whole thing again. My setup will be:

1. Regular Speed 400
2. Graupner CAM 5x5
3. 7 500ma or 8 500 ma cells

What would be a maximum weight that doesn't sacrifice the flight characteristics significantly ?

Mine weighs 18oz with 500AR 8 cell pack.

Do a search for "Simple 400" in this and Open forums.

Some folks are using the Radio Shack 1600 Nimh packs and are over 20oz. It'll cut the wind, at least.

The higher wing loading means a faster glide, and higher stall speed. Should be fine. Throw it and see!

Mine is 18oz. with 8 cell 500AR Zagi pack. I also reinforced the "H*LL" out of mine.

Best description was I think "Poobs" who said after a rough landing "the fuse shattered like crackers

Some folks are using larger packs like the RS 1600 Numh, and are over 20ozs.

Power up a toss it. Should be fine and fast.

Thanks Poobs,

I was thinking to slim my plane further by making some circular hole on fuse and wings, yes, wings: rudder and elevater or by doing whatever I can do. But, now you makes me to give it a try. I will post a picture of my plane soon. You will not believe it is SIMPLE 400 !!! All rounded fuse
