although will need more angle for the camera so if you have any suggestions let me know.

Danq0: you can further lighten the build following this thread. We are looking at sub 200g dry weights still using 2205 motors and even lighter for DMC with his skitzo 2204.
I'm going with the first one for the FC. I hadn't planned on running one of the all in one cam/vtx setups but I do have one laying around so I will experiment with one. There are tons of different mounts for them on thingiverse so I will experiment and see what I like best.

I was going to use the VTX03 and one of those small cams but the vtx03 was out of stock... so went with teh TX03 @ 4.7g. I will have split video so that i can do the osd. I like that I dont even have to think were to install the vtx. The build becomes very simple. Maybe even being able to skip installing the top cage of the frame further lightening weight but at the speeds we will be doing with these maybe the cage should stay.

Thats a really good point with a tx03 or similar aio might not need the top cage at all. Just checked, the one I have is a FX797T at 4.5g so even lighter than the vtx03 with micro cam combo (but only 25mw). The only thing I would worry about is the cloverleaf antenna being exposed where the vtx03 has a whip antenna.

I bought the tx03 because it is 25/200mw selectable and its was on sale for $18 or $19. Soldering a whip should be very simple.

Any chance you could print some parts for a fellow rfxer?

Yes i can. A couple of bucks plus shipping cost will cover it. I dont have an amazing printer so i have to tweek settings alot. Once i have the prints i am comfortable with settings for i can print cheaper. Right now im researching and test printing camera pods for this build.

Thinking about it such a small part is not worth shipping.

Any updates? Have you thought much about battery size and props to use?

No major updates yet, still waiting on FC/ESC stack to get here. I'll give you 2 teaser pics though.

As far as batts and props see post #30 on page 2 and below for my battery of choice: Tattu 650mah 4S 75C.

For props I'm still looking at different props aiming for light and efficient with enough bite for racing. I have dozens of 5x4x3 props which are light and efficient just tend to lack on bite. However I'm thinking with an ultra light build like this they may still have enough bite plus I've been flying them for months on other quads so I'm used to them. We'll see and testing will ensue once the build is done going to try a variety of props like the racekraft 5038 bi blade and dal 5046 tri blade ultra thin props.

I've been experimenting with camera pods etc but I'm thinking the stock CF "box" might be best as its lighter than most pods and offers better protection than the light mounts I've been printing plus it does help add rigidity to the frame.

Any idea of th he weight of the pod?

Giving up on the full pods they were all too heavy 10+ g.

Here are the next 3 mounts I'm going to test print:

This ones sort of a small pod and will only weigh ~3g
http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1565966

This one would mount on top of the 20x20 stack and adjustable weighs ~3g
http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2020926

This one is simple adjustable and light would mount to the 30x30 spots on the frame and only weighs ~2g
http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1654731

I plan on printing them all out of TPU, I'll report back on which ones I like best.

What is the weight of the carbon and standoffs top parts that you could dish by using the tpu mount?
