DOA Runcam 3

Long story short. I got a friend purchased a brand new runcam 3 from HK on his trip. I would have purchase it from usa if they are shipping to USA. I was excited to receive it. BUT it have no power. It only power up on USB cable. Power will go off as soon as I unplug the usb cable. Also the runcam 3 does not detect the sd card.

I contacted Runcam Customer Support for help or warranty. I was told to return it to my re-seller. That wont happen. Now I am stuck with a bad Runcam3.
Since I have no warranty. I decided to open it and see if lipo are unplug. I found that the lipo was shorted out and burn out wire. Brand new Runcam 3 out of the box.

Why didn't you have your friend test the camera before he left HK?

Hi, exactly, it's insane - I just got my RC3 and I timelapsed maybe for 10 minutes and the camera was like a hot bun right from the oven and half of the battery gone Not happy 'bout that at all

I will try to turn off WDR, as it's stated in the manual:

NOTICE: When capturing video with WDR and at high frame rates in warm ambient temperatures, the camera
may become hot and use more power. When using WDR, please capture shorter video clips or choose lower
frame rates, and/or limit your use of features that increase power consumption in the RunCam App.

Sorry, one more thing: is there a way to start time-lapse video recording without the app? It somewhat cumbersome to use the app :/

I am not so proud owner of the RC3 as well.
Here are my issues with it.

1. Video quality - the bitrate on it sometimes is 30Mbps most time it's below 30 which make fpv video look like crap.
2. I do not expect the GP sound here, but what is the story with the left / right switching ??
3. It's lacking and kind of "superview" like feature, which is also down side. I have "superview" on my Xiaomi YI for that matter.

On the plus side:
1. The best form factor.
2. WDR .
3. Price.

Hello, my RC3 microphone intermittently cuts off during recordings, that is it cuts off for maybe 10-15 secs then comes back then 30 secs later it cuts off again, and again... video is fine... any insights?
many thanks!
