X24 with a Hitec Optima 9 Receiver. Can someone please tell me where to connect it and the correct configuration.

Thank you!

I'm ready to update my XPS24 to version 1.9 in order to be able to use UDI16 for a Jeti DS-24 (Using UDI12 now).

Will I lose the mapping of channels to XPS ports? Sure hope I wont have to reprogram my plane.

Thanks

The Optima9 has no serial output does it?

Iím researching it. Iím building a 35% Extra for a friend and he flys Hitec (Aurora 9 TX); which Iím not familiar with. Regardless, I want to see if it will work with the X24. Or other options, such as what other receivers I can use with his TX.

Thank you!

A quick look at Optima manual shows no sign of a serial output. Appears you will need to look at another solution.

SECTION 1 – X24 INFORMATION Basic Details This product requires the use of receivers that output a serial data stream. If your receiver does not have a serial data stream output, it will not work with this product! Currently, the following serial protocols are supported: XPS Xtreme Spektrum DSM2 and DSMX (satellite receivers only) Futaba SBUS and SBUS2 JR DMSS Mode A and Mode B JETI UDI (UDI12 and UDI16 are recognized automatically) Graupner HoTT SUMD Multiplex SRXL

None of the settings are changed when performing a firmware upgrade.

Only certain Hitec receivers have SBUS output.

Thank you David. I did find this last night:
https://hobbyking.com/en_us/2-4ghz-a...ompatible.html

It does have the ability to output PPM or RSSI. Would this work?

Thank you again. This is my first time using the X24 and Hitect TX/RX. If this won't work, I'll have to go back to SmartFly.

Hi Jim,

I only found one Hitec receiver that outputs SBUS; its small and is for quads. My biggest concern with using this is distance, noise, etc. This is going in a 35% Extra, DLE 111, etc. I didn't see any others; have you?

Thank you,
Bob

Hi Jim,

I did find this receiver:
http://hitecrcd.com/products/aircraf...ceiver/product

It outputs SBUS and just might work!

Thoughts?

Thank you,
Bob

X24 with Hitec Optima SL SBUS Receiver

Sorry for all the posts, I want to make sure this will work before going any further.

2S Lipo Power Batteries (2)
All Hitec Servos are HV
DLE Ignition will handle 8.4V

I'd like to use X24 servo matching for A1/A2, B1/B2, C1/C2 and C7/C8.

Where would I connect the Hitech Optima SL SBUS receiver?

Thank you again,
Bob

http://www.xtremepowersystems.net/data/X24_manual.pdf

Wiring the X24
The X24 requires a serial data stream for it's information. This can be
supplied from any compatible receiver. With exception of the Spektrum
satellite receivers, the connection between receivers and the X24 requires a
JR (or Futaba) female to female type cable. This is different from a standard
servo extension that has a male and female connector at opposite ends.
Spektrum satellite receivers require a special JST-PH to JST-PH cable.
Plug one end of the female to female cable into one of the X24's Rx Ports.

The Rx Ports menu lets you enable (turn On) or disable (turn Off) each of
the four serial ports. Turn on any Port you want to connect a receiver to and
turn off any Port that is not being used.

If you put two, or even four of those connected to the X24.....man, that would be a sweet system.

I assume you can bind more than one Rx to the HiTec Tx model slot?

Bob, your diagram is a very common setup for the X24. You would plug the receiver(s) into the Rx ports, located between the throttle servo and the DLE ignition output in your diagram. There are 4 ports there for receivers.

You can bind more than one Rx to the Tx with the Hitec system. So you could have up to 4 Hitec receivers that output SBUS connected to the X24.
