Scale soaring at 2017 Cumberland Maryland Spring Soar For Fun - March 22-26

Time to fire up the tow planes on top of old Mt. Knobley on the Maryland/West Virginia border as the scale group in the east tried to shake off the winter cold. Dates are March 22-26, 2017 at Highpoint Aviation. The event typically draws people from 9-10 states while making a 6-8+++ hour drive is seen as well worth the effort by those who do!

In fact, all manner of RC sailplanes are welcome and late winter weather conditions will dictate flying style. So bring everything...slopers to winch-launch floaters, combat foamies to giant scale sailplanes. Conditions can vary widely over the span of several days...especially for this March event. The last two years have had seen warm calm aerotow days at the beginning of the event and snow, ice, and slope wind by the end of the event! Multiple powerful tow planes will be available each day for the big stuff.

Loaded the trailer with big gliders and even a bigger tow plane.

Heading to Cumberland MD for the annual Spring Soaring Event.
If you're near the area, come on by and join the fun.

I haven't started loading the van yet. But some days look pretty nice on the weather outlook.
