Some goodies arrived. Waiting on Dmitry to finish the build and ship it off. Can’t wait.

Ryan, how have the x06 been doing for you? I’m still planning on putting 4 into my stiletto too if it’ll ever arrive. |

I have had quite a number of pretty long flights with this plane. It’s certainly a fun one. Ryan |

Excellent news thanks Ryan! I have exactly that electronic setup ready to go if it’ll ever arrive! Haha
So I assume the concern about needing an x08 for the flapperons has been unfounded? The room in the nose of this plane was def a factor in me choosing it. I’ve got big fingers and the prospect of cramming gear into a hawk or even a deviant was very unappealing. My home built are all stick mounted with nose cones to cover. Wide open that way! :-) |

Well I’ll offer this advice. It’s been 4 months since I placed my order... took them near 2 months to build the stiletto I asked for even though lead time was 10 days to 2 weeks. Ok. I can understand that. Nearing 60 days now since shipped . Zero update on tracking since this thing left Russia near 2 months ago. I would not recommend buying anything from Russia if you don’t live in Europe. I’m doubting at this point if it’ll ever get here, and if it does , if it’ll be undamaged. We shall see.

That's too bad, Dan. I ordered some Stilletos directly from Russia back in 2018 and last year a friend of mine made a group order from Hyperflight and both arrived pretty quick. It is good to be aware of these delays if some new things have been happening with shipping from Russia recently. Bummer it is affecting your order.

The boxes I got direct from the Russian builders was packed really really well. So I suspect it may well be fine.

72 days now and stiletto is nowhere to be seen. Dmitry is being good enough to refund me if it doesn’t get here in a week or so, but I’ll say again, way the world is right now, don’t under any circumstance order anything direct from Eastern Europe to the US. You won’t get it. Hyperflight however got me a plane from England to Florida in 3 days. I’ll only trust Neil at Hyperflight going forward.

Hi everyone,
I'm interested in purchasing the Stilleto, soaringUSA has the lift version only, hyperflight does have both versions (hot and lift). Does anybody have any experience with both versions that could tell me which one is better? I'm new to DLG but have been flying gliders and airplanes for a long time. I recently got an old DLG balsa kit from a friend (without ailerons) and really enjoyed it, so I want to make the upgrade. |

The Lift version better for any pilot who just wants to fly in a relaxed way, the thermal circles are easy to execute. Good for beginners and childrens.
The Hot version is the more extreme glider. Not recommend for beginners. Fantastic aerobatic! Thermal flight of course too, a bit harder, but interesting))

I just received my Stiletto Hot and it's eagerly awaiting attention on the build pile.
I have 4 KST x06 servos earmarked for it. Hopefully they'll be enough for the ailerons. I see some concerns with them for DLG wings, but often that's with 1.5m wings and 1s LiPos. I'll be running 2s LiFe so hopefully they'll be ok. I plan to make a travel case for it, or maybe just use a rifle case if I can find one just the right size. Can't wait to get it in the air! |

Good to know 👍

I’m probably way overthinking things, since my old 1.5m DLG had D47s in the wings and I never had any complaints 🙂 |

One other thought - has anybody tried a bottom mount horizontal stab? I'm planning to do a pull string for the tail surfaces.
This might be another case of premature optimisation |
