Rebel FMS P-51B

(Original date of post: Apr 30, 2016)

I purchased an unpainted version of the FMS P-51B. I had found some artwork online of a fictional Star Wars Rebel Alliance warbird and thought it would be fun to make one. I found some good size decals on Ebay and some pin-striping tape from Amazon and I think it's starting to look the part. I hand painted the original FMS pilot, and put in a close to scale R2-D2 figure. It does add a bit of weight but it certainly looks the part. I'm sure I'll have to adjust battery position a bit to achieve CG. Next step is to finish installing control horns and get her setup on my DX9.

This is awesome! Great idea. Going to be kind of hard to land on the "feet" the rebel fighters used on the retractable gear they used. LOL
