In Companion, click HELP -> CONTRIBUTORS

Bertrand Songis is the father of OpenTX (but he inherited/forked it from its true grandfather: Michael Blandford)

Thanks again Mike! (and Bertrand! - and all the rest of the selfless devs!)

That actually deserves an update (which will be in 2.2), we've gained 3 significant code contributors in the last few months, the github summary is quite good:
https://github.com/opentx/opentx/graphs/contributors

Organization is very loose as that's how it works best.

And a special thanks to YOU, too, Kilrah!

Your initial draft of the manual (which FrSky modded and shipped with the original X9D in the /Docs folder on the SD), was (and still is)... supurb!

Thanks again!

If anyone has anything to add please do so and provide source references. I want to document this so it's not lost in history
Maybe the developers will incorporate it into the website or the manual...

To my recollection I first became acquainted with OpenTX in February of 2013. My first post referencing OpenTX in RCG was in April 2013 https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...postcount=2604

OpenTX came to life (the the best of my knowledge) in RCG in January of 2013 there there about . EDIT: I thought I had a reference for this - but the reference had been edited - so I think the earliest non edited reference I have is my post listed above)

In January, 2014 version 1.52 was released and this was a major deal. (I still have the installer) I've included two screen shots from that version - one is a list of contributors.

Hope this helps some.

RcRav -- I did some more digging and found information that gives the release of 0.97 in September 2012. See attachments of screen capture from open-tx.org as it appeared on January 28 of 2014.

Just to be sure it's seen -- the first half hour of downloading there was an error in Companion (but not the firmware) which was corrected for subsequent downloads. So if anybody grabbed it right as it was launched they might want to get a fresh copy of companion.

:-(
Found out the hard way.
"Only a few suffered" is not an excuse IMHO for not changing the version number.
It's not that there aren't enough digits.

Hey, they did it for free in their free time.

I'm shure you are error-free...

It has nothing to do with an error.
I don't care about the error itself. I know of many more errors in the latest version.

It's an attitude thing.
They decided to to bring out a 2nd version without changing the number.
It was already downloaded about 300 times.
I was having an error where others didn't and this was totally unnecessary.
This caused confusion. Especially because I later that day installed it on a friend's machine where I didn't notice this problem.

I just hope by posting this is that they don't decide that again.

If they do it again then well...
I know then to not trust the version numbers anymore and download it another time at the end of the day.
And make sure it will not be MY problem anymore.
