now you will really appreciate the j250. it is incredible, how that small amount of dihedral makes it much easier to fly.

could be the cg is a little off ... you can move the battery aft a little ?
also ... is it possible to increase the throws a little ?

I'll try and move the cg back, the motor needs to be angled down from the front? first wing.Bud

the motor should be shimmed about the thickness of a popsicle stick at the end
CLOSEST TO THE PROP ..... this causes the motor to sit at a slight downhill angle towards the front of the plane. with power on ... it will right itself in flight, causing a slight "climb with power" situation. mine is this way, and i am able to set the elevons at 0 degree for flight

hellow and thanks for sharing the simple wing design. i built one up last pm
and gave it a try this am. wow it flys vantastic..i put a 3s1p 1020 up in
the nose to help set my cg close to plan, plenty of power.....
the 1 inch diehedral works greate to tame it down..wish i could add a pic
but my dig cam is on the blink...thanks again

Wonder how it would fly on an IPS and 'A' gear with a 9x7 slow fly. Its so easy to build, if it could fly slow it might make a great "entry" model to RC.....

I started your wing this morning
Just one question right now, how wide and how long is the cover for the nose?

thanks

Would a gws EDP-50 direct drive with a 3x2 prop fly this wing? I have two of them but don't have any johnsons. Also, when you put it together what do you use for glue? In the pictures at the front of this thread it looks like a cross between hotglue and silicone. Thanks Ray

sorry i did not get back to you sooner .... should have checked, as i have been here building. since yours is done - just for reference ... the cover is 11" long and 1 3/4" wide. (4" to glue under the bottom front and 7" to cover the gear)
looks like a very good job to me !!! they will handle a little wind .... preferably 10/12 mph or less. mine only weighs 4.3 oz. w/o the battery pack.

being it is as light as it is .... i believe the edf 50 and 3x3 prop would fly it ok, maybe not as fast. if you try ... bear in mind that the edf 50 is lighter than the j250, so you would need to get your servos as far forward as possible (almost directly behind the battery spot, which is at the very front.

sorry .... forgot the glue. i use mainly hot glue, but use 5 minute epoxy for the fastening of the cover to the bottom.
