New FrSky M9 & M9-R High Sensitivity Hall Sensor Gimbal For Taranis X9D Plus

New Hall sensor gimbals for the Taranis X9D Plus arrived to us from Frsky

I hope this will remove the jitter we see on the Rx Tab,
These Gimbals besides the better resolution and sensitivity offer better smoothness using 4 bearings.
They also have Adjustable tension, and the self centering can be disabled (for throttle).

Did a google rcgroups search and searched on the Radio sub forum and couldn't see it,
It should be here, if any interesting thing will be categorized to a million vendor sub forums we will never see it.

I wonder if these will be as good as the "aurora mod" ?

I see Getfpv has them on pre order as well. Can't help but wonder how long the pre orders on various venders will be?

I just installed the M9's on my Taranis, and I don't see what all the fuss is about. They don't feel any different to me.

It's a very minor point, but it would be nice if it had markings for easier centering when calibrating..

All in all though, I just don't see how they're any better. They don't feel better or even really different to me.

They don't feel different to me either. My old 2013 Taranis with original sticks feels the same as the Plus with M9. But I'm happy that the M9 is technically a better system (thinks - must check the wires aren't bending too much).
And why do folks on Mode 2 replace both gimbles?

I did both because I had heard all this talk of how "amazing" they are. I only really needed to replace one - the right one, because a wire had broken off. I think I would have been better off just getting a normal one. Would have saved money...

Watch the calibration screen, the M9's are significantly more precise and recenter better (the stock gimbals will float a little, especially at center)

And the rudder channel on mode 2 is pretty critical for some. There's better control over the throttle feel as well over the stock gimbals.

I came from the Rev C gimbals and find the M9's definitely feel better. The stock ones always seemed to feel a bit vague, especially at the center, the M9's do

Is there a difference in the sticks between the red and black?

No, but there is a difference between the M9 in either colour and the M9-R.

I'm pretty sure the red M9 is so that you can have matching gimbals when using the M9-R as your throttle stick
