New features:
  • Crosshair - I know this will be controversial, but you can always turn it off

3/29/2017
KISS OSD V2.3 Released
ATTENTION: Requires KISS FC V1.2 or higher!!!

New features:
  • PAL/NTSC Autodetect
  • Wattmeter
  • Voltage warning
  • mAh warning: Will display leftover mAh when symbols active every other second
  • Props can be turned on/off in KISS CONFIG TOOL
  • Air timer: Timer will only start after throttle is applied
  • New filter menu with LPF and Notch filter control
  • Custom TPA control
  • vTx control (usable in upcoming KISS FC release)
  • PID control
  • Future proofing: PID/vTx/etc. saving to KISS FC will also work with newer version of KISS FC - due to special commands provided by Alexander Fedorov

V2.x consists of two Firmwares: The KISS OSD Config tool and the actual KISS OSD. The idea is that the user installs the Config tool first, sets up the OSD to his/her liking and then flashes KISS OSD finally.

Quick installation guide:
  • Flash the KISS OSD CONFIG TOOL first. Watch the video below and set it up the way you want it
  • Then flash KISS OSD. Done

My KISS OSD FW will run on any OSD that can run MW OSD. If it doesn't - PM me
I have made a special version for the Impulse RC Helix vTx. You can use the Impulse RC Helix vTx even if you use a different frame than the Helix. This is a really nice board which can clean up your build quite a bit and will allow you to change channels and select between 3 power levels (25mW, 200mW and 500mW).
Please note that the Impulse RC version will not work on (micro) minimOSDs!!!

You can download the release from the attachment or from my github page:
https://github.com/awolf78/KISS_OSD/releases

Please make sure you also read the Wiki for installation instructions:

This video focuses on the changes between KISS OSD V2.0 and KISS OSD V.2.2:

PID tuning demo with KISS OSD V2.1 (sorry for the bad DVR):

Illustration below how to wire the Impulse RC (Helix) vTx to the KISS FC.
For FTDI, you need to connect the DTR as well (not needed for KISS FC connection).

Yeah, I'm just building a KISS quad with the KISS minim OSD.
Saved everything. Will use this one without doubt over the two other different OSD firmwares. Highly supported and often versions with new features, just great.

Thank you so much!

This Rocks! I just installed on a new Reaktor PDB/OSD for the Alien and it woks great! I love the DV feature.
Xloader is so easy!

My question:
Is there a way to make this work with TBS Unify VTX so channels and power levels can be adjusted? I think it uses the smart audio connection.

thanks
Dan

Question back to you: How's your video quality with the Reaktor? Just like before? I always ran into trouble when I got my video cable too close to the ESC power wires - wondering how this one works out.

Now, to your question

SmartAudio requires basically a serial connection. Our OSD hardware (KISS OSD, your Reaktor PDB, etc.) has only 1 serial port and we need that to communicate with the KISS FC. There are some tricks and ways to emulate a serial port but somebody already tried this and it did not work
So this pretty much rules out the OSD hardware to change channels on the Unify VTX.
Leaves the KISS FC. The KISS FC should have at least one extra serial port (if you check out the bottom of the KISS FC you can see RX2 and RX3) which could be used for SmartAudio. Unfortunately, Alex Fedorov, AKA fedorcomander fell in love with the Immersion RC Tramp first, so he is currently working on that - bad news is that he is using the same serial port the OSD needs. So you need to make a choice: Tramp or OSD.
I personally do not have access to the KISS FC code, so I cannot implement SmartAudio support. So your only chance is to go in the KISS FC Thread and keep asking for SmartAudio support.

I really hope they implement it. I know lots of people that fly Kiss with Unify Pros.

The spinning props in your OSD are pretty cool, hadn't seen this before.

I also use the reactor pdb and no major image quality issue with the built in OSD and wiring with the kiss fc is such a dream I'd be willing to even have little issues

I really like your OSD fw and config. Everything works except for getting into the menu or changing bat preset.

If I yaw left and pitch up/down I *sometimes* get the main menu. Yawing right I can see the batt setting text flash in the middle if I hold it but it never actually stays and I cÓr change it.

All channels worked fine with the config fw.

I have another setup that is mostly the same and will report after trying it

Also my channels are well calibrated from 1000 to 2000 in the kiss gui

The quick battery select (yaw right while disarmed) does not work properly in the current release, sorry about that. Will be fixed in next release
As a work around you can go in the battery setup through the menu.
To enter the menu, just yaw left and hold it for more than 3 seconds. Don't move any of the other sticks. That should always open the menu.

Try swapping TX and RX cables (on either FC or OSD).
