Skywalker X-1 mini flying wing 600mm as a slope soarer

This model is probably more known as an FPV aircraft but I decided to try out the X-1 as a slope soaring glider first.

Skywalker X-1 winter slope soaring (1 min 37 sec)

Wind speed was approximately 8 m/s (gusting 12 m/s). Flying weight is 184g. If wing area on the box is correct (10,65 dm2) then wingloading is 17,3g/dm2. May need ballast for these wind speeds. No significant damage to the model, canopy popped off often during harder landings and some scratch and dents to the foam and winglets. Aerodynamic tail cone is cut from a small craft store foam cone and glued to the firewall with foam safe CA. Did not use stock wire to control horn connector and taped the wing leading edges for added protection against damage.

0,00- 0,44 one of many flights; 0,44- 0,54 maiden flight; 0,54- 1,14 some harder landings; 1,14- 1,36 photos.
