Sorry, I couldn't resist poking fun.

On the other hand, that thread is a very interesting read. I thoroughly enjoyed it the first time that I saw it, and that snake still amazes me to this day.

The book says they can't fly, lets hope they never learn to read.

honeybee (2 min 12 sec)

Funny thing about this thing, at the spring Fun Fly some people from Oklahoma came
and they raise bull dogs, they always bring a couple, very well behaved and around
planes all the time, when the bee took off the first time, they took after it, they
knew it wasn't a airplane. When the owner yelled at them they came back
instantly.

WOW! That beat my longest flight by about 10 times. I wouldn't dare fly one near the house. You're crazy man!

They fly better with two rags and the knots. It's the principal of the design, very ingenious. Once the rags wind up in the opposite direction to the prop and the knotted ends are forced outwards by the centrifugal forces, it becomes stabilized because of the gyroscopic effect. Actually, it looks like a duck without wings when in flight.

They fly amazing until they get hit with a gust of wind, then hunt around before going stable and straight up again.

Free flight terror at it's best. They eventually got banned at one of our flying sites.

Given the abilities of modern mutli-rotor FCs, shouldn't you theoretically be able to put 3-4 motors on pretty much anything and get it to fly?
