F-86 Sabre - My first EDF project

Here's my first EDF attept:

24" wingspan.
Go brushless 20mm, 10 magnet motor.
6.6 oz AUW with 3s 600 MaH Li-Poly.
EDF-50 converted.

It flies well, but I would love to have a little more power. It will rog in about 25 feet and will climb at a decent (although shallow) rate. It will loop with a dive and will roll reasonably well. The wing is flat bottom, so it won't fly inverted.

Pretty nice. Can you elaborate on how you built it?

Sweet.

I was flying my Cd-Rom EDF-50 flea tonite. I too would like more power.

Here's what I have:

22.7 mm
6 magnets
16 turns, wye

Flying on 3S340

I saw the video posted in foamies of the Superflea, it's a cdrom edf-40, it's flying like 80 mph. I'd like that. Any advice is appreciated.

If we can figure that setup out, it would make that F86 go ballistic.

Looks great Bquick and it flies, on the power end I cant help you but I hear that the new 12mm motor from Balspr is working pretty good.

Try using a 5-bladed fan..Balsa Products has them.I have one in a Fantastic Jets mig-15 using a Conversion motor works cd-rom.
The thrust output is almost scary, climbs at 70 degrees after
leaving a easy hand launch

I tried the 5 bladed fan, but I didn't get much more out of it. I think I loaded up the motor too much and drew more current than the motor could efficiently handle.

The plane was built using a hot wire from 2" foam. The front end of the fuselage was cut using a template on the front and the back of it, as was the rear end of the fuselage.
