Warbird event is GO !

Warbird Event is a Go!

Despite the rain and flooding, the field is mown, the grass is green and we are ready to fly!
Tell your buddies that the Thunderbirds Warbird is on and we need aircrew and ground crew!

If you have something even remotely warbird like, bring it along and enjoy the comradeship of one of our longest running events. If you have any questions about the event, feel free to contact Ed Kettler who also happens to be our club safety officer. Contact information is posted on the club site.

All "JET" Fly-in

I've just begun the planning process for holding a "Jet" rally/fest/bash/"over ?"/ etc. (name tbd) to be held at Ft. Worth Thunderbird field next year - 2020 (date tbd).
EDFs and Turbines welcome. Runway is smooth concretes 480ft long and 40ft wide. Electricity = 120v multi outlets at every support pole under the shelter. (Yes, we have turbines operate there all the time.)

I intend for this to be an AMA sanctioned event. Entry fee will be affordable and include lunch. Emphasis will be on actual flying and "hangar flying". If you are interested in attending and/or helping with this project, please respond via PM here or at the email listed below.
I can use all the help I can get.

Sincerely,
Garry

Coming event at LARKS - Cubs & Cousins Aug. 16 & 17, 2019

See attached Flyer ....

Club web site ...

www.Larksrc.org

A little different venue !
The 6th annual Gulf Coast Pattern Championship is this Friday through Sunday at LARKS. And this year we are doing a contest within a contest and you might be interested in watching or (I hope you’re sitting down) even participating.
The contest within the contest will be an EDF Pattern contest (no turbines). The sequence of maneuvers is considerably shorter than the traditional Pattern sequence and the maneuvers are typical to what you might fly on any relaxing weekend . Here is the website with all the info.
http://jetaerobatics.org/sequences-2/. This event will not be sanctioned. EDFs only, no turbines. Only 7 maneuvers, please takeoff and landing. Should be a lot of fun. Jet Pattern is a newer discipline within the AMA and some on the Pattern circuit are giving it a try. I hope you will too. The cost for the EDF contest is only $10 and the winner gets half the pot (LARKS gets the other half).

Of course, the traditional Pattern contest will also be flown and your support and help during the event is greatly appreciated. If you have any questions about how you can help or questions about flying in the contest, let me know.

See you at LARKS this weekend!
Fly smooth.
