Chessington indoor model flying dates (2017)

We have just been advised of the dates we are allowed to fly indoors at Chessington Community College during 2017, they are as follows:

January (13th & 27th)

February (10th and 24th)

March (10th and 24th)

April (7th and 28th)

May (12th and 26th)

June (9th and 23rd)

July (14th and 28th)

August (11th and 25th)

September (8th and 22nd)

October (13th and 20th)

November (10th and 24th)

December (8th and 15th)

The full address is Chessington Community College, Garrison Lane, Chessington, Surrey, KT9 2JS

Link to map is here.,+england

The cost remains 8 per adult and 4 for under 16's.

Planes, helicopters and quads will be welcomed.

We will have access to the atrium from 6:00pm till 8:45pm and the main hall from 8:00pm (or earlier if no basketball) till 8:45pm.

Summary of rules:

- Proof of insurance required; I will be checking.

- Maximum model weight is 500g.

- Do not do things that will annoy other people.

There are plenty of power sockets if you need to charge batteries.

Lots of free parking.

Always someone on hand who will be happy to help beginners with problems and setup.

I will be awarding a prize (new BNF plane) and trophy on 15 December to the most improved flier in 2017 - as determined by myself, my decision is final. See the previous year for a rough idea of the prizes:

If any dates or rules change then I will make updates to this thread - so feel free to subscribe or keep coming back to check.

Please feel free to post questions here so I can provide answers that may help others.

Many thanks, John

A brief reminder that the last date in the Chessington indoor calendar is next Friday, 15 December.

The prizes this year are:

- a BNF UMX Radian for the most improved, and
- a Stevens AeroModel 1946 "Say's nuh!" 140 kit for the person who has crashed the most (and probably has a spare set of electronics or two at home).

But, you have to be there in person to pick up your prize!

See you there.

The dates for 2018 have just been announced here:
