Dive, but not from the stratosphere and only about 45 degrees for about 3 seconds before leveling out. No wind.

No video. All the videos I see are with someone's smart phone strapped to their hat or something, and it's just not exiting. If I can get someone to Visio it that actually has, or knows how to use a camera, I'll get video.

A 3 second dive at that speed is 800 feet...

I have seen 8 cell set ups fly at our field, and they are not anywhere near 178mph. What set up are you flying?

Not when you start from basically a hammerhead stall turn and the dive is 45 degrees. Your math also assumes I started at 178mph, which I obviously did not.
I'll be honest, I didn't check my max altitude on the gps unit, but I was far from being a spec in the sky at any point in the flight.
Friday I will do straight and level tests, as boring as they are...

This was from a 45 degree dive from, I'm guessing, 400 feet. It's the jetfan v3 with HET 1865kv motor and brand new 5,000mah graphene pack. There's room for a little more oomph, as timing right now is set to 0, but I'm already pulling around 125 amps, static.

For guys new to the 8s setups
Jetfan 80 v2 with het 1738 is about 130mph level flight and with the het 1865 about 140mph. This has already been hashed out in the effluxRC thread.
